    What is an eSim?

It is a non-physical sim, electronic sim that is downloaded to your phone through your carrier.

There's an option right in the Settings, nether Network and Internet. Click on net, and then shows my Carrier (TMobile) and a "cog" next to that. Then select Preferred Network Blazon. Choice there for 5G, LTE, 3G and 2G.

Or just search in the settings for Preferred Network Type and select from in that location.

Simply call your carrier. I have Google Fi as my carrier and my Pixel vi Pro came with a physical sim already installed. With my Pixel 4a I switched from AT&T to Fi and when I did Google downloaded the esim into the 4a.
If you have a physical sim for your carrier just put in your P6P from the other telephone.

I accept att and they remove the option to choose network type. So I just turn on battery saver to switch to LTE.

Google Fi ready phones do. I don't know about other carrier phones. I bought a Pixel 6 Pro Fi fix telephone and it came with a Fi sim carte installed.

I got my phone from Verizon and it came with a new sim menu. If I select Settings/Network & net/SIMs/Preferred network type all three options seem to be available.

No. They mailed me the new telephone and I transferred the information. Up and running since 11/5.

I'1000 on Verizon, and I previously did a speed test when I saw I had a decent 5G signal, and got 30 Mbps downward, which isn't bad. I don't see a history rec at present, but I swear I saw only 2Mbps the outset time I tried it. I merely did the switch to LTE preferred, and got 205 Mbps down, so I'll exist leaving it on LTE for the time being.
